Launch of "Nature Society of Costa Rica"
San Jose, Costa Rica (PRWEB) March 5, 2008 -- The Costa Rica Power Team (www.deededparadise.com), the leading real estate consulting firm in the Central American nation of Costa Rica, announced today the establishment of the Nature Society of Costa Rica, a not-for-profit environmental research group.
The Nature Society of Costa Rica has been established to provide grants and gifts to recognized academics and environmental professionals or organizations that have as their objective the preservation of the natural environment of Costa Rica.
The Costa Rica Power Team has pledged a percentage of each sale to fund the Society and will begin to accept grant and research proposals in September 2008.
In announcing the Nature Society, Jason LaFlesch, Costa Rica Power Team President, said that Costa Rica's natural beauty and environment must be saved. "Costa Rica is blessed with a tremendous environmental heritage. More than six percent of the world's bio-diversity is found in Costa Rica, a country with less than one percent of the world's landmass. As a company, we recognize our responsibility to preserve that heritage and to preserve Costa Rica", Mr. LaFlesch said. "As the Costa Rican economy grows it will face enormous pressures. Efforts must be made to save the rain forests, beaches and wildlife of Costa Rica. We hope to play an instrumental part in that effort", Mr. LaFlesch added.
The Nature Society will include Trustees from the academic and environmental community of Costa Rica. "In the months ahead, we will be reaching out to recognized environmental professionals to serve on the Board of Trustees. The Board will serve as the group responsible for awarding grants and gifts to individuals and organizations conducting environmental research in Costa Rica", Mr. LaFlesch said.
"As evident in the unveiling of our Certified Green Worldwide ® twelve point environmental initiative several months ago, the Costa Rica Power Team intends to stay at the forefront of this issue, promoting environmental awareness among the business community in Costa Rica. We will be contacting all real estate companies operating throughout Costa Rica urging them to support the efforts of the Nature Society. It's essential that we all work together to protect Costa Rica's fragile environment," Mr. LaFlesch concluded.
Based in San Jose, Costa Rica and Mesa, Arizona, the Costa Rica Power Team is the leading real estate consulting firm in Costa Rica. In addition to maintaining equity positions in its properties, it is the exclusive sales agent for several master planned communities in Costa Rica. All of its communities meet or exceed the environmental standards codified in the Certified Green Worldwide mandate. This mandate is based on the standards promulgated by the U.S. Green Building Council and its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.
